The revitalized remnants of Tropical Storm Alma, the first named storm in the Eastern Pacific, strengthened to become Tropical Storm Arthur, the first named storm in the Atlantic Basin.
Inland over the Yucatan and moving west, rain and thunderstorms continue to flare around Tropical Storm Arthur and pour down dangerous torrential rain.
Arthur will continue westward across the southern Yucatan Peninsula and weaken to a tropical depression.
Locally heavy FLASH FLOODING rains are likely across Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize and southeast Mexico. Some amounts may range from 10 to 20 inches over the next few days. Use extreme caution in flood prone areas!
Sunday, Arthur will emerge over the waters of the Bay of Campeche. As it continues to head westward, Arthur could regain minimal tropical storm strength before it again heads into Mexico and weakens.
