This is a conversation I had today with a non Christian:

He said: "I view homosexuality as a disease, or a defect of sorts. I wish there was a cure for it. I have known enough homosexuals to know that they don't "choose" their "lifestyle" any more than a cancer victim chooses his disease. Many live lives of complete misery, abandoned by friends and family. For whatever reason, God chose to make them that way. God loves all sinners, and I don't believe He would condemn them for being the person they were created to be. I could no more choose to be a homosexual than they can choose not to be one. That is how GOD made them.

Frankly, I don't think they can damage the institution of marriage any worse than heterosexuals have already. TEOTWAWKI is coming, and homosexual marriage is so far down the line of human offenses...IF it is an offense at all...to be completely irrelevant.

Here is my reply to him:

I'm a Christian and I don't know what god you are talking about that "chose to make them (homosexuals) that way".

Not my God. Not the Christian God of the Bible. He didn't make Adam and Steve. He made Adam and Eve. He told them to be fruitful and multiply.

How in the world could Adam and Steve multiply? The answer is they couldn't.

A cursory look at Romans, chapter 1 in the New Testament would tell you how the God of the Bible views homosexuality. You wouldn't even have to look in the Old Testament, which gives plenty of evidence that He is against it.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
(Romans 1:21,22,25-2

What does this tell you? Right from the beginning it says that men thought they were smarter than God and because of their unbridled lusts their minds were perverted and twisted and they rebelled against God's instructions and received the "recompence" of their error".

In other words they got AIDS, sexual diseases, broken homes and families, miserable unfulfilled lives and ended up in HELL forever.

Unless a Christian would come along and convince them that they should REPENT of their sins against God and His Holy Word and turn from their ungodly lifestyle and give their heart and life to Jesus Christ, Who died for them and paid for their sins at Calvary and wishes to bless them and prosper them and give them a true Godly life (and wife or husband), filled with blessings and joy and peace and when they die here a place in heaven to be with Him eternally.
